Strangers
I feel like me and the outside world have become strangers. I wasn't prepared for my Mom to leave and how much harder a newborn is when you're all by yourself. Zoe has been pretty fussy and doesn't want to do anything but eat and be held...for the past week. We took her to the doctor today and she is a healthy 9lbs 12 oz so she's doing well, but it doesn't explain why she's been so difficult. The doctor thinks her symptoms spell a combination of Acid Reflux and Colic. (You'll forgive me not having the time to link those.) Anyway, we're doing ok, I've just been too busy to get on and update. I hope everyone is well and I will find time eventually to read and comment on your blogs again!
Weekly Pictrues
I'm going to make a promise to post pictures at least weekly. This will be the first of many. Here is what Zoe's been up to this week:
(She sleeps a lot. Look at those cheeks!)
Hanging out with the cousin's (hopefully my sister's-in-law won't kill me for posting this!)
Three peas in a pod (in order of appearance)
Growing (this is a picture of Zoe graduating from Newborn PJ's to 0-3 month pj's. She looks so big!)
"I'm ready for my close up, Mom"
First nap with Daddy (well, first one caught on film anyway)

Two Weeks Old
already! Can you believe it? I can't. People told me it would fly by, but I didn't expect time to go this fast! I'm down to 6 weeks until I'm back at work. That seems impossibly soon.
We're doing fairly well on the Equipoise front. Zoe really is an excellent baby. She only cries when she needs something...she's not one to fuss for no reason. I've learned that she has her parents' lack of patience and inherited our stubborn nature. I've also learned that she's a sweetheart. She grins in her sleep and is a snuggler. We love her so much! She had her two week appointment today and has gained back the pound she lost after birth and then some. She is in the 63rd percentile for weight and the 73rd for height. She's right where she's supposed to be. Many of you have read of our troubles in breastfeeding early on. I'm happy to report that things are going much better. Zoe feeds regularly and hasn't had formula since she got out of the Bili bed. We're so happy. Also, I'm starting to figure out her schedule and might actually be able to shower and dress before 4pm most days now. Even with the lack of sleep and all the newness and change, I have to say that I'm really enjoying motherhood. My Mom asked me the other day if it was everything I expected or if it was better. People, it's better. She was definitely worth two years of waiting.
Tomorrow Love goes back to work. He's been so amazing, such a major help to me. I'm really going to have a hard time with him being gone all day. Fortunately, my sister and her husband are flying in tomorrow afternoon so it will help to take my mind off things. I'm dreading the day when my family leaves and Love is at work and I have to do this mother-thing all on my own. I'm sure it will all work out and I'll be fine, but it is a scary thought...
I'm slowly working on the birth story. It seems like such a daunting task to write about a miracle...but it's coming, I promise. Well that's all for now. I'll be posting more pictures soon. Someday I'll find something else to write about

Because I can't resist
She's here!!
Ok, so I know I'm a week late, but it's hard to tear myself away from all the cuteness!!!
I went into spontaneous labor 4 hours before I was scheduled to be induced. After 12 hours of labor- two of them spent pushing- Zoe made her grand entrance at 1:37 pm on Monday, June 30th. She was born weighing 8 lbs 6.9 oz and is 22 inches long. The room was full of tears as we saw our little miracle for the first time. Love and I are feeling so blessed and are enjoying every minute of parenthood so far...well except for the lack of sleep and such. :) Mom and baby are both doing fine. In fact, I am already back to my pre-pregnancy weight...in a week! It's crazy! I promise I will get back on here soon and tell the whole birth story...but right now my little one is waking up wanting to eat. If you want to see more pictures and get a little more info, please feel free to visit my Mom's blog.
Here's a more recent photo of Zoe, I can't believe she's already a week old! My my they change so fast!
